We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Koorie Engagement Support Officer. This role will play a critical part in improving the educational outcomes of Koorie children and young people.
Key Responsibilities- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including education providers, community agencies, and local communities, to improve access to culturally responsive educational services.
- Provide expert advice and support to education services on culturally inclusive and appropriate strategies to increase engagement, achievement, and wellbeing of Koorie children and young people.
- Coordinate and implement initiatives to improve the capacity of educational services to deliver culturally inclusive and appropriate programs.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of targeted programs and strategies aimed at increasing engagement, wellbeing, and achievement of Koorie children and young people.
- Proven experience in working with Indigenous communities and education providers.
- Strong understanding of Indigenous cultures and histories.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
