Year Coordinator Role

The Year Coordinator plays a pivotal role in leading and supporting students, fostering a positive school culture that promotes student wellbeing and engagement. This involves strategic planning and collaboration with teachers, families, and external agencies to achieve academic success.

  • Attend regular meetings with teaching staff to review student progress and develop tailored support plans.
  • Work closely with classroom teachers to implement behaviour management strategies and provide individualised pastoral care.
  • Collaborate with Heads of Learning Area and families to identify student needs and develop targeted interventions.

Responsibilities:

  • Organise events that promote student engagement and wellbeing, such as assemblies, reward initiatives, and advocacy programs.
  • Support teachers with behaviour management and student wellbeing initiatives in the classroom.
  • Participate in case conferences with parents and external agencies to address student needs.
  • Conduct enrolment interviews and prepare student timetables for new students.
  • Manage course changes and behavioural referrals efficiently.
  • Monitor student progress using data systems and oversee the Good Standing process.

Requirements:

  • Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights.
  • Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before starting employment.
  • Obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before commencing work.
