Job Description:

The successful candidate will lead the Building Services team and execute Council's statutory functions under the Building Act and Regulations. This includes inspections, enforcement, and issuing notices, orders, and certificates. The role involves overseeing programs related to safety measures and pool safety compliance, investigating complaints, managing legal processes, and representing Council in regulatory matters.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a Tertiary qualification in Building Surveying and unrestricted Building Surveyor registration with the VBA. They should also possess extensive experience in building surveying, compliance, and enforcement, as well as proven leadership skills with team management experience.

This is a full-time position based in Bairnsdale, with flexibility for part-time applicants. The role offers a hybrid WFH arrangement (60/40), but applicants must reside in the region to perform duties effectively. Successful candidates will need to undertake a police check, pre-employment medical, and psychometric testing. Applicants must have the legal right to work in Australia.
