Program Overview
The Connected Beginnings program is designed to support the delivery of high-quality education services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. The program aims to ensure that these children are on track to begin school, equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary for success.
Key Responsibilities
As a Cultural Mentor, you will work within a multi-faceted team to engage with Aboriginal families and stakeholders to support the delivery of the Connected Beginnings program. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing strategies to engage with Aboriginal families and stakeholders
- Providing support to families where it is most needed
- Maintaining relationships with external support providers
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Knowledge of child protection legislation and responsibilities
- Early Childhood Qualification (desirable)

Other Requirements
In addition to the requirements listed above, you will need to:
- Gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed
- Undertake RRHAN – EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course
