About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Principal to join our Energy and Power team at Marsh Pty Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving growth, profitability, and client satisfaction within a portfolio of complex priority accounts in the energy and power sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster Strong Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, delivering unparalleled client service and ensuring their needs are met.
  • Strategic Account Management: Manage a portfolio of complex accounts, identifying opportunities for growth and expansion.
  • Business Development: Pursue new business opportunities, expanding the range of Marsh products and services accessible to clients.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Victorian Energy & Power team and collaborate with the broader Pacific and Global Energy & Power practice.
  • Risk Management: Develop, implement, and achieve risk management and insurance programs that address client needs accurately in the energy and power sector.
  • Client Engagement: Engage with, coordinate, and project manage the broader Marsh team in delivering results for clients.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate enduring relationships with key client decision makers, expanding and retaining a portfolio of high-yield accounts in the energy and power sector.
  • Claims Management: Stay attuned to significant claim matters and assist in negotiating settlements.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of relevant regulations and acts in the energy and power sector.
  • Industry Expertise: Understand how Marsh Mc Lennan can support our clients and deliver the best of our firm to assist them with their insurance and risk needs.
  • Team Support: Support the Victorian Energy & Power Leader with financial reporting and team budgets.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and coach junior colleagues.
  • Industry Events: Engage in industry events, conferences, and client functions in the energy and power sector.
Requirements
  • Experience: Over 7 years of experience in Insurance broking, preferably within the energy and power sector.
  • Business Acumen: Strong comprehension of business and organizational risk management.
  • Account Management: Prior track record of managing a portfolio of complex accounts.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Compliance: Essential Tier 1 FSRA Compliance; tertiary qualification beneficial.
