About the Role
As a Reliability Engineer - Maintenance Specialist, you will provide technical support to the Maintenance team by applying Reliability Centred Maintenance principles. You will establish and maintain relationships with the maintenance, production, planning, and engineering teams to ensure success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety Leadership: Demonstrate safety leadership by supporting the Field Leadership program to continuously improve safety performance.
- Business Partnerships: Build business partnerships and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
- Reliability Improvements: Support reliability improvements and the elimination of defects in the end-to-end maintenance system.
- Performance Analysis: Analyse performance metrics and benchmark performance across the site and other BHP businesses.
- Operational Standards: Support the development of operating standards, procedures, and work instructions.
- Equipment Analysis: Analyse life of equipment to determine equipment capability and optimisation of maintenance activities.
- Maintenance Strategies: Develop and optimise maintenance strategies that enable plant safety, reliability, and performance to be maximised.
- Team Development: Develop and increase the capability of the maintenance execution team to drive safety, reliability, efficiency, quality of work, and 'maintenance as a profession'.
- Root Cause Analysis: Closely monitor equipment performance in relation to cost, performance, and reliability and complete targeted root cause analysis (RCA). Develop and implement subsequent improvement actions and monitor their effectiveness.
- Coaching and Development: Provide coaching to the maintenance execution team in regard to defect elimination and root cause analysis.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other functions within the organisation including Maintenance and Engineering Centre of Excellence (MECoE), supply, and production departments.
- Continuous Improvement: Deliver root cause analysis and 'failure type' reviews.
Requirements
- Industry Experience: Mechanical & Reliability industry experience in Maintenance or Degree qualified in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Electrical or Structural Engineering.
- Proven Work Experience: Strong proven work experience in a similar role.
- Communication Skills: Ability to influence, engage, and communicate with stakeholders effectively across all levels of the business.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach to finding practical solutions utilising continuous improvement processes.
- Project Management: Ability to define and manage projects from conception to completion.
- Technical Skills: High-level of experience with all Microsoft Office Applications & 1SAP.
- Management of Change: Ability to apply management of change and risk principles.
- Adaptability: Willingness and ability to learn, adapt to change.
- Reliability Engineering Experience: Experience as a Reliability Engineer or Maintenance Engineer within the mining industry will be highly advantageous.
