
Aboriginal Health and Immunisation Specialist

About this Opportunity
This role offers a chance to contribute to stronger, healthier futures for Aboriginal children and families across the Central Coast. As part of our effort to advance vaccine equity, you'll join a dedicated team focused on improving access to immunisation services and lifting vaccination rates.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality education and vaccination services to Aboriginal families and community members.
- Work effectively with multidisciplinary teams to improve access to immunisation services and lift vaccination rates.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local organisations and health providers to enhance collaboration and service delivery.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to address vaccine hesitancy and improve vaccine acceptance among Aboriginal families.
- Provide support and guidance to junior staff members as needed.
Requirements:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse or Midwife with a relevant authority.
- National accreditation as an Authorised Nurse/Midwife Immuniser, or working towards accreditation (training can be supported).
- Knowledge of best practice immunisation principles and guidelines, with an understanding of Aboriginal health needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with Aboriginal families, community members, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to working within professional and ethical boundaries in a team-based healthcare environment.
- A valid driver's licence.
