Aboriginal Immunisation Specialist

This role provides an opportunity to contribute to stronger, healthier futures for Aboriginal children and families across the Central Coast.
As part of the WAVE (Working to Advance Vaccine Equity) Program, you'll join a dedicated Public Health team focused on improving access to immunisation services and lifting vaccination rates.
About the Opportunity:
- Deliver education and vaccinations that protect the community and reduce the impact of vaccine-preventable diseases.
- Work across inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Collaborate with local organisations and health providers to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal families and community.
About You:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse or Midwife with AHPRA.
- NSW Accreditation as an Authorised Nurse/Midwife Immuniser, or working towards accreditation (training can be supported by an internal scholarship).
- Knowledge of best practice immunisation principles and guidelines, with an understanding of Aboriginal health needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with Aboriginal families, community members, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to working within professional and ethical boundaries in a team-based healthcare environment.
- Current NSW Driver's Licence.
Vaccination Requirements:
All NSW Health workers are required to comply with the Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy Directive (PD2024_015). This includes:
- Mandatory evidence of protection against specified infectious diseases, including annual influenza vaccination and tuberculosis assessment.
- Applicants must provide appropriate evidence of compliance prior to commencement.
