Philanthropy Role

We are seeking an experienced Philanthropy Manager to join our dynamic and vibrant fundraising team. This key position will play a crucial role in securing significant financial contributions for Motor Neurone Disease research.

Key Responsibilities
  • To lead the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of potential supporters to secure substantial philanthropic donations.
  • To manage a portfolio of major donors, fostering strong relationships and long-term commitment to support the fight against Motor Neurone Disease.
  • To design and deliver a calendar of donor engagement activities and events that inspire giving, build loyalty, and demonstrate impact.
  • To proactively identify and research new major donor prospects through individual giving programs, events, and community networks.
  • To collaborate with the Senior Philanthropy Manager to develop and implement strategic plans to grow the supporter base and optimise philanthropic revenue.
  • To work closely with the broader Fundraising Team to deliver integrated supporter journeys that enhance retention, encourage upgrades, and promote cross-channel giving.
About Motor Neurone Disease

Motor Neurone Disease is a progressive neurological condition that causes loss of limb use, swallowing difficulties, speech changes, and eventually breathing challenges. It has an average progression of 27 months, highlighting the urgent need for effective treatments and a cure.

Fundamental to finding solutions lies in understanding the complexities of this disease and its impact on individuals and their families.

About You

  • Proven experience in relationship management and donor stewardship, including direct gift solicitation.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, enduring relationships with philanthropists, trusts, and individual stakeholders.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including proposal writing and the confidence to make the ask.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems to manage donor data and engagement.
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work outside standard office hours to support key donor and fundraising events.
