About the Organization

Uniting Lindsay Gardens is a nurturing aged care facility located just outside the bustling city center. It features three distinct households, each accommodating 15 to 34 residents, including a specialized Memory Support Unit dedicated to individuals living with dementia. Our Homemakers play a vital role in fostering a vibrant community where residents engage in meaningful and enjoyable activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enhancing residents' quality of life by creating and facilitating engaging environments and activities.
  • Designing and implementing a cohesive strategy for community involvement that caters to the unique needs of each resident, both within the facility and in the broader community.
  • Building and nurturing relationships within the local community to promote opportunities for active aging.
  • Ensuring effective and respectful communication while maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of each resident.

Qualifications

  • Desirable: Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle or equivalent qualifications and experience.
  • Essential: Qualifications in Individual Support or a related field.

Skills and Experience

  • Deep understanding of what constitutes meaningful engagement for residents.
  • Solid grasp of community engagement and inclusion principles.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of Work Health and Safety regulations and risk management practices.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management abilities.
  • Willingness to introduce innovative ideas and concepts.

Essential Attributes

  • Insight into the health, social, or aged care sectors.
  • Previous experience in aged care, community support, or leisure/lifestyle services.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a knack for building rapport.
  • A collaborative spirit with the confidence to make decisions.
  • Proficiency in using electronic communication tools, including documentation systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and effective time management.
  • Current First Aid certification.
