Uniting Lindsay Gardens is a nurturing aged care facility located in a vibrant community setting. Our home consists of three distinct households, each accommodating 15 to 34 residents, including a specialized Memory Support Unit dedicated to individuals living with dementia. Our Homemakers play a crucial role in fostering a thriving community that engages residents in meaningful and enjoyable activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhancing the quality of life for clients by creating environments and activities that foster relationships.
- Implementing a comprehensive strategy for community involvement and inclusion tailored to the unique needs of each resident, both within the facility and in the broader community.
- Building and nurturing connections within the local community to promote opportunities for active aging.
- Ensuring effective, timely communication while upholding the privacy and confidentiality of each resident.
Qualifications
- Desirable but not mandatory: Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle or equivalent qualifications and experience.
- Essential: Qualifications in Individual Support or a related field.
Skills and Experience
- Deep understanding of what constitutes meaningful engagement for clients.
- Solid grasp of community engagement and inclusion principles.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders and develop partnerships.
- Strong knowledge of Work Health and Safety principles and risk management practices.
- Outstanding organizational and time management abilities.
- Innovative mindset with a willingness to introduce new ideas and concepts.
Essential Attributes
- Insight into the health, social, or aged care service sectors.
- Prior experience in aged care, community services, or the leisure/lifestyle sector.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a knack for building rapport.
- A collaborative spirit with the confidence to make decisions.
- Proficiency in using electronic communication tools, including documentation systems and mobile devices.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Current First Aid certification.
