Business Systems Management

The role of Business Systems Manager is a vital part of any organization. It requires strong leadership skills to motivate and manage a team effectively, as well as engage with and influence the executive leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, lead and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Business Systems team.
  • Coordinate and project manage external vendors performing technical work.
  • Lead and own the IT Business Systems strategy, planning and performance to deliver business outcomes.
  • Develop and implement the Business Systems roadmap.
  • Work with stakeholders across the organization to identify business system requirements and ensure that the systems meet those needs.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and system optimization and implement changes as needed.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the use of business systems to ensure their security, reliability and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with IT staff and vendors to maintain and upgrade business systems, including system updates and patches, hardware and software upgrades and integrations with other systems.
  • Oversee overall support processes (service request capture and prioritization, issue resolution, root cause analysis).
  • Participate in the Change Advisory Board for application-related changes.
  • Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning and manage disaster recovery testing.
  • Contribute to the development of IT budgets and strategies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline.
  • 5+ years' experience in business systems management, preferably in mining or heavy industry.
  • Experience with SAP, including S/4HANA Public Cloud, SuccessFactors, SuccessFactors ECP, Concur and S/4 modules such as Asset Management, Supply Chain, Finance and HR.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively, as well as engage with and influence the executive leadership team.
  • Experience in overseeing application security, cyber security threats and mitigations, including disaster recovery.
  • Recognised IT professional certifications are desirable, eg ITIL, PRINCE2, Agile, SAP.
  • Commitment to safety, quality and teamwork, with a demonstrated ability to encourage team safety and identify and report hazards.
