Systems Engineering Lead

The Role We are seeking a skilled and collaborative Systems Engineering Lead to own the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems engineering, integration, and testing activities across the full lifecycle of cutting-edge aerospace vehicles and their supporting elements.
Key responsibilities include: Lead and support a multidisciplinary team of systems and test engineers.
Manage systems engineering activities across the full lifecycle—from concept to deployment.
Collaborate with other Engineering Leaders to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
Continuous improvement of company tools and processes for systems engineering, integration, and testing activities across the lifecycle, ensuring consistent application across all projects.
Coordinate systems engineering training initiatives for engineering team members.
Team management for shared systems engineering resources.
Creation and technical review of systems engineering artefacts.
Oversee integration, testing, and specialty engineering activities—including reliability analysis, FMECA, and root cause investigations—in alignment with the HLS Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP).
Perform top-down systems design for new products, including functional analysis, decomposition, and requirements derivation.
Plan and conduct system integration and verification planning, including in-house environmental testing.

To be successful in this role you will need: Bachelor degree in an Engineering or STEM discipline.
Experience in a team lead, engineering management, or coordination role in a fast paced, complex setting (approximately 5 years+) Hands-on experience in systems engineering (approximately 5 years+) Familiarity with the full systems engineering lifecycle, from operational concept through to system verification and deployment.
Strong leadership with a supportive, hands-on approach.
Agile decision-making and a logical approach to technical challenges.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Resilience and adaptability in complex environments.
Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Office, Jira, and MS Project (or equivalents).
Supplementary requirements Driver's License, preferred.
Background checks, including Australian National Police clearance check.
