We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Leader to lead the finance function for a subsidiary of our client during a period of organisation change and growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting & Compliance: Oversee the preparation and consolidation of financial statements in compliance with both Australian and US GAAP reporting requirements. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to the global finance team.
  • Financial Control: Manage all aspects of financial control including budgeting forecasting and variance analysis. Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a small local accounting team fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary finance liaison between the subsidiary and the global finance team. Provide strategic financial insights to support business decision-making.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability of financial operations.

Qualifications:

  • Amenable to work in Brisbane
  • CPA CA or equivalent professional accounting qualifications backed by 7-10 years of corporate finance experience.
  • Big 4 training and experience
  • Success in roles within the biotechnology pharmaceutical or other life sciences innovation markets
  • Proven experience in managing finance functions across manufacturing import sales and distribution operations as a subsidiary on a multi-national growth business
  • Exposure to R&D accounting inventory management and revenue recognition specific to the biotechnology industry or a similar fast growth technology field
  • Leadership Skills with demonstrated ability to lead and develop finance teams fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
  • Proven track record in managing financial operations during periods of change and growth with a focus on scalability and process improvement

Suitable candidates should have exposure to the following:

  • Biotechnology pharmaceutical or other life sciences innovation market experience
  • R&D accounting inventory management and revenue recognition specific to the biotechnology industry or a similar fast growth technology field
  • Big 4 training and experience
  • Leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead and develop finance teams
  • Proven track record in managing financial operations during periods of change and growth
