Job Title: Risk Management SpecialistLa Trobe Financial is seeking a skilled Risk Management Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will have experience in risk management practices and disciplines, with a strong understanding of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks.Job Description:
  • We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to support the evolution and delivery of our second-line Risk and Assurance functions.
  • The position involves assisting in the embedding and operation of our Risk Management Framework, as well as supporting key risk initiatives and the maturation of our risk, control, and compliance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the embedding of policies, frameworks, systems, and processes to support continuous improvement in our approach and adoption of best practice in ERM and Compliance.
  • Provide support in conducting half-yearly and annual reviews of business division's risk profiles, including ensuring risks and controls registers are always up-to-date in Protecht.
  • Provide support to the ongoing update and maintenance of Protecht, recording and managing risk-related matters, including engaging with Protecht system support teams.
  • Provide support to business divisions by way of risk-related training and Protecht system training around its usage and functionalities.
  • Provide support to enhance and implement a control assurance framework, strengthen Third-Party Risk Management Frameworks, and Model Risk Frameworks.
  • Provide support in managing and closing internal or external audit or assurance review findings and deep dives into operational risk incidents reported to the risk team.
  • Provide support for the implementation of other key risk initiatives furthering the embedding of our Risk Management Framework and Compliance Management Framework within the organization.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in the financial services sector, with exposure to general risk management practices and disciplines.
  • Relevant tertiary or professional qualifications, with preferred qualifications in Commerce/Economics or Risk Management.
  • Strong data collation and analytical skills, with experience in working with data analysis tools and software.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and decision-making skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with ability to engage with employees across all divisions.
  • A high level of attention to detail and critical thinking, with ability to analyze complex data and provide recommendations.
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills, with ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.
