Senior Nursing Leadership Position

Peninsula Private Hospital is seeking an experienced and dedicated Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to lead and oversee the Surgical Ward. This position offers the opportunity to provide leadership and direction while ensuring the efficient delivery of evidence-based nursing care in alignment with hospital strategic goals.
This is a full-time position involving 76 hours per fortnight.

Job Responsibilities:
- Provide operational leadership and management of the Medical and Rehabilitation Ward.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care while managing human, financial, and material resources.
- Actively participate in quality improvement and accreditation processes, adhering to National Safety & Quality Healthcare Standards and Workplace Health and Safety protocols.
- Support and mentor less experienced nursing staff, promoting continuous learning and development.
- Ensure a safe and effective work environment through active management of Workplace Health and Safety concerns.
Selection Criteria:
- Current Registration with AHPRA.
- Minimum 3 years previous experience at NUM level or equivalent.
- Experience in the Acute setting.
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A strong commitment to developing in a management role.
- A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer-focused care.
- High degree of computer literacy including MS Office and various databases.
- Ability to work cohesively within a team environment.
- Proven time management and prioritisation skills.
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in labour management.
- Demonstrated HR management experience.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Strong understanding of patient flow.
About Our Facility:
Our facility has 60 inpatient Surgical, Medical and Rehabilitation beds, a rehabilitation gym, and 3 operating theatres located on the idyllic Redcliffe Peninsula. We average 760 admissions per month, providing services such as orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, gynaecology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, and internal medicine, along with leading rehabilitation services and programs.
