We are seeking an experienced Dispute Resolution Specialist to lead our Dispute Resolution Team within the Victorian Workers Compensation division. This role is pivotal in ensuring fair, timely, and effective resolution of disputes between injured workers, employers, and insurers.

  • Work collaboratively with the Group Manager to develop and implement a proactive approach to dispute resolution and conciliatory matters.
  • Lead and manage a team of dispute resolution professionals and administration assistants, providing supervision, coaching, and performance development.
  • Oversee intake, assessment, and resolution of disputes, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policy.
  • Promote and facilitate early resolution practices including conciliation.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including legal representatives, and regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor team performance and contribute to strategic planning and service improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting, documentation, and case management.

About You

  • You are a confident leader with a strong background in dispute resolution, case management, or legal services. You bring:
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex disputes, preferably in a Vic Workers Compensation or regulatory environment.
  • Strong understanding of early resolution principles and Victorian Worker's Compensation legislation.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proven ability to lead teams in high-pressure environments with empathy and professionalism including team building, coaching, mentoring, performance management and change management.
  • Tertiary qualifications in law, dispute resolution, public administration, or a related field (desirable).
