Research Officer Job Description

Contribute to cutting-edge research at the Adelaide Medical School, supporting cerebral palsy genomics and neurogenetics activities.

Job Opportunity:

This role plays a key part in patient data management and biospecimen handling for the Australian Cerebral Palsy Biobank.

You will contribute experimentally to validating and interpreting genetic variation, as well as providing administrative support for research activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrated experience in genetic research or a related medical field.
  • Experience in laboratory protocols and technical procedures including nucleic acid and protein extraction, cell culture, PCR, immunohistochemistry, qPCR, western blotting and quantitative analysis of data.
  • High organizational and interpersonal skills with ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Relevant degree with subsequent experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
  • A valid Working with Children Check.
