About This Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead our cardiovascular research initiatives and manage grants in South Australia.

  • Foster collaboration among researchers, oversee operations, including managing key committees and building relationships with stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the SA CVRN Co-chairs and General Manager to achieve strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide operational and strategic support to the SA CVRN Executive and Rising Stars Sub-Committees, including secretariat duties such as minute-taking, action items, and reporting.
  2. Develop, promote, and administer research grants for CVRN members through transparent processes.
  3. Lead the planning and execution of key events like the Annual Cardiovascular Showcase, Emerging Leaders Symposium, and capacity-building workshops for researchers.
  4. Build and maintain strong relationships with CVRN members, research funding bodies, institutions, local health networks, and government agencies.
  5. Identify collaboration and funding opportunities across clinical, research, industry, and government sectors, and coordinate activities with other cardiovascular research networks.
  6. Coordinate the induction of new members and maintain the integrity of the SA CVRN member database.
  7. Support digital and social media efforts to raise the profile of SA CVRN and its members and represent the Network at external meetings and forums.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant work experience in health and medical research or a related field.
  • A strong understanding of the health and medical research landscape in SA and Australia, including funding schemes and networks.
  • Expertise in grant management and administration.
  • Experience in organizing research, capacity-building, and networking events.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and administrative skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience managing and working with committees.
  • Strong collaboration and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks proactively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for various audiences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
