About The Role:

Ventia's Defence Base Services (DBS) contract supports Defence estate support services and facilities management. We deliver a range of estate, living, and base support capability including asset management and maintenance; ranges and training area management; airfield & land management and more.

As a Range Operator with Ventia, you will provide range services at the Range Defence Training facility, corresponding areas and exclusion zones during live range activities and operations. This full-time opportunity offers 38 hours a week with overtime, with days of work ranging from Monday – Sunday based on the schedule of works that are planned around the Defence force.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure Red Flags / Red Lights are positioned in accordance with Range Standing Orders
  • Preparation of ranges along with providing assistance to range users and other customers
  • Undertake Land Management activities including; grass cutting, tree removal, weed spraying
  • Undertake first response bush firefighting activities within the limitations of qualifications, available equipment, safety and crew size
  • Undertake basic Estate Upkeep functions such as fence and gate repairs and other tasks
  • Manufacture and repair targets as required
Requirements:
  • Current Drivers Licence – Required
  • HR Truck Licence - Desirable
  • Experience in Range Training Areas and/or Land Management - Desirable
