About the Role:

Ventia is seeking a skilled Range Operator to join our Defence Base Services team. As a key member of our team, you will provide range services at the Range Defence Training facility, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of live ranges and training areas.

This is a full-time opportunity offering 38 hours of work per week, with overtime available. Your schedule will vary from Monday to Sunday, depending on the planned works and Defence force activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safe positioning of Red Flags and Red Lights in accordance with Range Standing Orders
  • Prepare ranges and provide assistance to range users and other customers
  • Undertake land management activities, including grass cutting, tree removal, and weed spraying
  • Respond to bush fires within the limitations of your qualifications, equipment, safety, and crew size
  • Perform basic estate upkeep functions, such as fence and gate repairs, and other tasks
  • Manufacture and repair targets as required

Requirements:

  • Current Driver's Licence
  • HR Truck Licence (desirable)
  • Experience in Range Training Areas and/or Land Management (desirable)
