About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Resources Engineer/Hydrologist to join our multidisciplinary Sustainable Futures team at RPS Group. As a key member of our team, you will work alongside experienced hydrologists and water resources engineers to deliver high-quality projects in urban development, renewables, and resource development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct surface water investigations, flood studies, water balance modeling, stormwater drainage modeling, and associated technical reporting.
  • Liaise with clients and project teams, including civil engineers, planners, landscape architects, hydrogeologists, and environmental scientists.
  • Collect, compile, present, and evaluate/analyze environmental and hydrological data.
About You

The successful candidate will be a tertiary-qualified professional in Environmental or Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field with:

  • 3-10 years of experience in hydrology and hydraulic modeling.
  • Thorough working knowledge of the latest Australian Rainfall and Runoff Guidelines (ARR 2019).
  • Ability to set up and run XPSWMM or TUFLOW models in accordance with ARR 2019.
  • Working knowledge of GIS software, including ArcGIS and QGIS, and relevant plug-ins for preparing and post-processing TUFLOW model data.
  • Experience in preparing Better Urban Water Management reports or technical reports on hydrology and hydraulic assessments.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate a desire for learning new skills and professional development.
