Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement hydrological and hydraulic flood models and related outputs such as reports.
  • Develop water balance models for simple and complex systems.
  • Contribute to the delivery of flood impact assessments and flood risk management plans as part of Integrated Water Management projects.
  • Work on climate change adaptation, water optimization, and resilience-related projects.
  • Coordinate and verify designs, including drawings, reports, specifications, and studies with project teams working across multiple offices.
  • Help grow teams and both internal and external relationships.
  • Embrace and promote a leading digital work environment and delivery culture.
  • Work in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a field such as water resources engineering, hydrology, or a related field.
  • Experience with modeling software such as TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, RORB, or RAFTS.
  • Programming skills, including Python.
  • Water balance programs, such as Gold Sim.
  • GIS experience, including ArcGIS, QGIS, or MapInfo.
  • Understanding of ARR guidelines.
  • Experience in several facets of the project lifecycle, from tendering and concept design through to construction.
  • Demonstrated self-management and the ability to work autonomously and take ownership of outcomes.
  • Experience working with a variety of clients.
  • Knowledge of relevant Australian standards, regulations, and legislation.
  • The desire to work collaboratively in a high-performing team environment.
  • Ambition to grow technical skills and personal influence.
