About the Role:
Arcadis is seeking a highly skilled Water Resources Engineer to join our team. As a Water Resources Engineer, you will play a key role in developing hydrological and hydraulic flood models, water balance models, and technical inputs for proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement hydrological and hydraulic flood models and related outputs such as reports.
- Develop water balance models for simple and complex systems.
- Contribute to the delivery of flood impact assessments and flood risk management plans as part of Integrated Water Management projects.
- Work on climate change adaptation, water optimization, and resilience-related projects.
- Coordinate and verify designs, including drawings, reports, specifications, and studies with project teams working across multiple offices.
- Help grow teams and both internal and external relationships.
- Embrace and promote a leading digital work environment and delivery culture.
- Work in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design.
Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a field such as water resources engineering, hydrology, or a related field.
- Experience with modeling software such as TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, RORB, or RAFTS.
- Programming skills, including Python.
- Water balance programs, such as Gold Sim.
- GIS experience, including ArcGIS, QGIS, or MapInfo.
- Understanding of ARR guidelines.
- Experience in several facets of the project lifecycle, from tendering and concept design through to construction.
- Demonstrated self-management and the ability to work autonomously and take ownership of outcomes.
- Experience working with a variety of clients.
- Knowledge of relevant Australian standards, regulations, and legislation.
- The desire to work collaboratively in a high-performing team environment.
- Ambition to grow technical skills and personal influence.
