Logistics Operations Director for Brisbane Region

Qube Bulk is a leading provider of mine-to-market and mine resupply solutions, handling over 85 million tonnes of various bulk ores, concentrates, mineral sands, salt, coal, and dangerous goods annually.

The Regional Manager will be responsible for managing, planning, and developing Qube Bulk's Mining Logistics Operations within their region to meet established objectives, particularly in Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE), Operational, and Financial areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental obligations and requirements
  • Manage customer, quality assurance, and documentation requirements
  • Develop, implement, and execute the Regional Business Plan
  • Provide effective leadership and development opportunities to line managers and superintendents
  • Manage operating cost performance, including budget development and management, and achievement of agreed performance targets
  • Assist with future regional projects, identifying opportunities, designing operational plans, and executing them
  • Liaise professionally with customers, regulatory authorities, and suppliers to promote Qube Bulk positively
  • Provide timely and accurate data input and reporting to the General Manager on the region's operational performance and business development
  • Lead frontline leaders and operational staff in best practices and encourage a willingness to travel to remote sites across Australia

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Broad knowledge of the Mining Logistics, trucking/bulk haulage/port sector, including mobile fleet and associated equipment
  • Operations management experience in logistics/transport/mining services industry
  • Track record managing a business unit of similar scale, setting and delivering a budget, leading a similar-size team, negotiating an employee agreement, managing an operation safely
  • Commercial and contract management skills
  • Budget and business P&L accountability
  • Prior exposure to safety culture in resources/oil & gas/logistics sectors
  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing and developing employees, preferably in ports, mining, logistics, or heavy industry environments
  • Diploma in Business, Logistics, or related area, equivalent or greater
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with various people
  • Advanced Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to work autonomously with a proactive approach to task resolution
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a demanding environment
  • Ability to work well within a small team environment
  • Experience managing multi-disciplined teams across multiple sites
