About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team as a Fleet Mechanic, reporting to the National Maintenance Manager. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for servicing, repairing, and maintaining our PENSKE Rental and Leasing fleet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain vehicles to ensure they are presentable, reliable, and compliant with NHVL regulations;
  • Manage a small stock of inventory and maintain a clean and tidy workshop environment;
  • Ensure the fleet is maintained to a high aesthetic appearance through regular washing, cleaning, and detailing;
  • Diagnose and repair issues to maximise fleet availability while controlling costs;
  • Identify and recommend preventative maintenance strategies for equipment;
  • Coordinate workload and ensure servicing is in accordance with OEM and company scheduled maintenance programs;
  • Travel and assist with field service activities as required.

Requirements

  • Completion of a mechanical trade qualification, preferably with a certificate;
  • Previous experience in servicing heavy vehicles or road transport (preferable);
  • Ability to work unsupervised and autonomously with a strong safety focus;
  • HR License (Preferred but not necessary);
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to communicate effectively;
  • A strong customer focus, with a commitment to providing an exceptional experience;
  • Attention to detail and strong organisational skills, with a 'can do' attitude.
