Mechanic / Test Technician

Rheinmetall Defence Australia Pty Ltd in Melbourne is seeking a skilled Mechanic / Test Technician to join their team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the RDA test vehicle fleet at AARC (L121 and L400) and supporting conduct of DT&E and V&V testing for all RDA vehicle programs.
The general and generic duties of the Mechanic / Test Technician include, but are not limited to:
- Assist, conduct, and / or supervise fault diagnostics and repairs on Logistics and Tactical test vehicle fleet;
- Document and complete maintenance and repair logs for all vehicle in ISSDB (In Service Support DataBase);
- Check and prepare mission module, mission systems and vehicles for testing;
- Support engineering test and information requests;
- Autonomously undertake technical investigations associated with field and or engineering faults;
- Prepare comprehensive reports associated with technical investigations for the engineering community;
- Advise and support testing activities in the weapon and weapon systems areas;
- Provide comprehensive training to colleagues on Logistics and Tactical vehicles;
- Provide comprehensive training to colleagues on Weapons and Weapon Systems;
- Work independently at various customer and Rheinmetall sites; and
- Fulfil other duties and responsibilities that may be required to maintain vehicle test fleet.
The ideal candidate will have a trade qualification in Mechanic (Certificate III as a minimum), proven experience in maintaining (light, medium and heavy) vehicles, and automotive diagnostic skills in electrical, electronic, electro mechanical and mechanical areas.
