Key Industrial Relations Position

This role is a critical opportunity to develop your career within Employee and Industrial Relations.

As an experienced professional, you will play a pivotal part in supporting the ER/IR function on various workplace matters and initiatives.

The primary responsibilities of this position include managing a portfolio across multiple business units, leading and managing enterprise bargaining negotiations, and supporting strategic bargaining efforts through benchmarking, trend assessment, and comparative analysis.

  • Support strategic bargaining efforts through the creation of benchmarking, trend assessment, and comparative analysis, providing actionable insights for informed decision-making.
  • Engage with key internal and external stakeholders, building strong relationships and effective communication channels.
  • Support the business with compliance matters, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Assist with workplace investigations and reviewing reports and outcome letters, maintaining transparency and fairness.
  • Maintain accurate records related to team member and leader interactions, as well as case management activities.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex cases and manage all workplace litigation within the portfolio, providing expert guidance and support.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in employment-related legislation, industrial instruments, and HR policies, sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues.

Our ideal candidate will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Law, such as a Juris Doctor or Bachelor of Laws.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, providing ER and IR advice to team members and leaders, with demonstrated knowledge of employment-related legislation, industrial instruments, and Modern Awards.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to work effectively with Excel spreadsheets and data, driving insights and recommendations.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills, with the capacity to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Previous experience working in a blue-collar workforce is highly valued.
