As an APS 6 Policy and Assurance Officer, you will lead the design and development of internal verification procedures, ensuring our compliance with Australian Government Investigations Standards and relevant legislative instruments. Your expertise will help us maintain the highest standards of operational competency and credibility.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Verification Procedures**: Lead the design and development of internal verification procedures to support Investigations Branch compliance.
- **Policy Development**: Develop comprehensive policy, procedure, and user manuals that meet organisational standards and comply with relevant legislation.
- **Framework Monitoring**: Monitor, review, and enhance the knowledge and information management framework, reporting on its effectiveness.
- **Continuous Improvement**: Develop and implement innovative initiatives to ensure ongoing capability development and tradecraft skills.
- **Data Analysis**: Gather, analyse, and report workforce data to inform system effectiveness and advocate for system modernisation.
- **Standard Operating Procedures**: Create and maintain standard operating procedures in regulatory or law enforcement environments.
- **Organisational Governance**: Provide support for organisational governance, including practice statements, instructions, and guidelines.
- **Strategic Support**: Offer strategic and operational governance support to facilitate integrated decision-making and procedural development.
- **Project Support**: Monitor and report on project plans, ensuring alignment with time, cost, and quality indicators.
- **Change Management**: Lead and support organisational change initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and effective implementation.

- Strong understanding of Australian Government Investigations Standards and relevant legislation.
- Proven experience in policy development and assurance within a regulatory or law enforcement environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
