Job Summary

A leading financial services firm is seeking a recent university graduate to join their team as a Payroll Officer. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to gain valuable experience in payroll management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update payroll databases to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Ensure employees' records are up-to-date and accurate
  • Manage leave and time-off requests in HR systems
  • Prepare and process termination calculations
  • Generate end-of-month reports and remit payments to vendors
  • Lodge and pay superannuation, withholding tax, and payroll tax to authorities
  • Manage payroll-related emails and respond to queries within 48 hours
  • Set up timesheets for employees
  • Assist with year-end reconciliations
  • Collaborate with payroll controllers, HR business partners, and business units to ensure timely and accurate pay-related matters

Requirements

  • Recent university graduate in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (VLookups, Pivot Tables) and Microsoft Office
  • Up to 12 months of prior experience in accounts or payroll is highly regarded but not required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work to deadlines
  • Proactive, flexible, and able to communicate with stakeholders professionally
  • Positive attitude and collaborative approach
