Business Development Manager - Partnerships and Growth

The Business Development Manager is a pivotal role responsible for driving growth through strategic thinking, relationship building, and market analysis. This individual will be instrumental in identifying opportunities, developing long-term strategies, and fostering collaborative relationships with internal teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct thorough research to identify new business opportunities, including potential clients, partnerships, and market segments
  • Develop and recommend strategies aligned with organizational goals, leveraging market trends and customer needs to drive growth
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the market landscape, including competitors, trends, and customer needs to inform strategic decisions
  • Manage the planning, execution, and monitoring of strategic projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes
  • Lead negotiations to establish beneficial arrangements for the business, leveraging strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with internal and external stakeholders, facilitating collaboration and knowledge sharing
  • As a senior member of the team, provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff, promoting professional development and collaboration

Requirements include:

  • Demonstrated success in a Business Development Manager role or similar position within an insurance business, with a proven track record of sales performance and measurable results
  • Possess a deep understanding of insurance products and their features, with experience in developing and executing business development strategies
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence at all levels, both inside and outside the organization
  • A relevant qualification, such as a Diploma of General Insurance, is preferred but not required
