Job Summary

This role is part of ASIC's Enforcement Investigation Team, responsible for investigating suspected misconduct and obtaining enforcement outcomes. The ideal candidate will have significant senior experience in investigation, case/project management, and the conduct of civil litigation and/or preparation of criminal briefs of evidence.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Guide the development of investigation strategy as well as the scoping, planning, and conduct of investigations.
  2. Take a leading role in the preparation and compilation of criminal, civil, and administrative briefs and provide support to any proceedings in State or Federal Courts.
  3. Take a leading role in commencing enforcement action, including civil litigation, criminal prosecution, and administrative action.

They will be proactive and outcome-driven, with the ability to see how their work contributes to the bigger picture. With a consultative and collaborative interpersonal style, they will enjoy working as part of a large, multi-skilled team.

Requirements

  1. Legal qualifications and a current practicing certificate.
  2. Significant senior experience involving investigation, case/project management, and the conduct of civil litigation and/or preparation of criminal briefs of evidence.
  3. Experience in the conduct of complex litigation.
  4. An understanding of the law, practice, and policy relating to the Corporations Act, the National Consumer Credit regime, the ASIC Act, and other relevant financial services legislation.
