Role Overview

As a Senior Lawyer at ASIC, you will play a critical role in enforcing market integrity and protecting investors and consumers in Australia's financial system. You will be responsible for managing complex cases from investigation through to enforcement, including the preparation of legal briefs, providing legal advice, and working with external counsel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and prosecute suspected market misconduct, including insider trading, market manipulation, and continuous disclosure
  • Manage complex cases from investigation through to enforcement, including the preparation of legal briefs and working with external counsel
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to ASIC staff and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other teams within ASIC to achieve enforcement outcomes

Requirements

  • Admission to practice as a lawyer in Australia
  • Extensive post-qualification experience in financial services, regulatory enforcement, or corporate and commercial law
  • Proven track record in managing high-impact legal cases
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capabilities, and exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
