Aboriginal Cultural Wellbeing Specialist

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to culturally responsive mental health care for Aboriginal people.
As part of our Aboriginal Mental Health Team, you will work collaboratively with clinical teams to ensure services are sensitive to Aboriginal culture and address the impacts of trauma and colonisation.
You'll be responsible for providing cultural advice and advocacy within a mental health setting, assisting with culturally informed care planning and assessments, and advocating for Aboriginal consumers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with clinical teams to develop culturally safe practices and promote social and emotional wellbeing.
- Providing expert advice on Aboriginal culture and its relevance to mental health care.
- Maintaining relationships with local Aboriginal health organisations and other agencies to support holistic care and outcomes.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as Health, Counselling, Social Work, or Community Welfare.
- Aboriginal descent recognised by your community and meeting the genuine occupational qualification for this role.
- Strong knowledge of Aboriginal culture and the social and emotional challenges faced by Aboriginal people.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with experience working with clinical teams and community partners.
