Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Research Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing innovative preclinical models for testing novel therapies, utilizing cutting-edge technologies in advanced molecular/cell biology and immunology.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in research, with a relevant doctoral or equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary institution. They will also possess high-level organizational, communication, and record-keeping skills, as well as the ability to meet deadlines.

In this role, you will be conducting research involving molecular/cell biological/immunological assays, including cell culture, fluorescence microscopy, qPCR/PCR, DNA/RNA extractions, manipulations, cloning. You will also be presenting research data at local institutions and/or national levels, contributing to the training and guidance of junior research staff, and developing and maintaining high organizational, communication, record-keeping skills, and ability to meet deadlines.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of self-motivation and research potential, evidenced by authorship of peer-reviewed research publications arising from PhD research. They will also have demonstrated knowledge of stem cell culture and organoid generation, T-cell culture, viral and non-viral vectors for cellular transduction; genome engineering using CRISPR/TALENs and similar technologies.

Requirements

A relevant doctoral or equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary institution is required. A minimum of three years full-time research experience is also necessary.
