Senior Technology Leader

As a key member of our Engineering team, you will play a critical role in accelerating our mission by leading the engineering for our Payroll platform.

• Lead engineering for our scaling Payroll platform, used by over one million people every month.
• Mentor and inspire your Delivery Leads, giving them the vision and tools to iterate and scale our product.
• Unify our squads through the creation of an innovative culture with effective ways of working.

In your first 12 months, you will tackle a host of challenges, implementing a technology transformation strategy, leveraging AI development tools for improved throughput and outcomes, and being a leader for your team as we move towards a unified platform. Key responsibilities include:

• Ensure platform uptime and performance - exceed documented Service level agreements of platform uptime driven through strategic initiatives.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration - build a strong partnership with Product Management to align engineering efforts with business goals and customer needs.
• Team Leadership & Development - lead and develop a large, geographically diverse engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and high performance.
• Technical & Domain Expertise - engage in deep technical discussions with stakeholders, leveraging knowledge of the payroll domain and ensuring compliance in highly regulated environments.
• Stakeholder Engagement - build trusted partnerships with business and technical stakeholders, acting as a champion for software engineering best practices and driving platform excellence.
• Continuous Improvement - identify and implement efficiency and quality improvements, inspiring teams to embrace change and drive operational excellence.

To thrive at Employment Hero, you will need to bring extensive experience in Senior Engineering Management position, ideally of a large (50+ person) geographically diverse Engineering team, a background of working in highly regulated or compliance driven business environments, knowledge of and advocate for Software Engineering best practices, and experience working within a high-growth and fast-moving environment, particularly if it's a SaaS product.

You will also have the ability to mentor team members and drive development and capabilities within the team, deep experience working with business stakeholders, developing strong trust and partnerships, with an ability to involve yourself in deep technical and business domain discussions.
