Role Outline

The Leader of Digital Technologies and Innovation works with key senior leaders to promote the College as a

place of learning and excellence, with a key focus on the use of digital technologies for innovation.

The Leader of Digital Technologies and Innovation mentors and supports teachers in building their capacity to

use digital technologies to improve teacher practice in providing effective and differentiated instruction for all

students. The primary objective of the Leader of Digital Technologies and Innovation is to facilitate the seamless

teachers. Reporting to the Assistant Principal - New Ambitions and Innovation, the Leader of Digital

Technologies and Innovation assists with the facilitation of teacher collaboration and professional learning to

improve student engagement and pedagogical strategies.

Role Requirements

Accountable to the Assistant Principal - New Ambitions and Innovation, the Leader of Digital Technologies and

Innovation is required to:

- Develop professional learning opportunities for teachers to maximize the use of Canvas (LMS), Microsoft

teaching and learning for students.

Position Vacant
- Use a digital technologies lens to support teams of teachers to co-plan, prepare, deliver and evaluate

learning, including the ability to review analytics on learning platforms to reflect on the impact of
teaching.
- Provide support to individual classroom teachers by modelling, co-teaching, observing and providing

feedback.
- Facilitate IT networking and learning opportunities to families, students and staff.
- Promote healthy digital habits and responsible digital wellbeing to families, students and staff.
- Conduct digital technologies bootcamps for students, families, and staff at the beginning of the year

and again at induction points during the school year.
- Support all Leaders of Learning to ensure a strong culture of digital technologies integration.
- Build a staff professional learning and networking culture around IT to enhance staff knowledge and

practice.
- Liaise with the Senior Assistant Principal - Teaching and Learning and the Assistant Principal - New
Ambitions and Innovation to develop a professional learning in house training calendar.
- Lead, investigate, research and develop the integration of emerging technologies suitable and

applicable to Chevalier College's vision.
- Work closely with the Executive Team and the IT Manager in the development and communication of

the College's IT-related policies and procedures.
- Consult regularly with the Assistant Principal - New Ambitions and Innovation and IT Manager regarding

the purchase and roll out of hardware and software across the College.
- Be a member of the IT Steering Committee.

As part of the criteria and experience required for the role, the Leader of Digital Innovation will need to have

demonstrated an ability to:
1. articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic Education and to actively
supporting the MSC ethos, charism and values.

2. develop, implement and oversee the school's strategic digital innovation learning initiatives.
3. contribute to the development of a culture of collegiality and reflective practice.
4. support individuals in identifying new digital innovation and learning experiences to ensure the highest

standards of technology.

5. assist, guide and support teachers to embrace the use of technology and effectively integrate it within
their classroom.

6. model and promote contemporary and innovative teaching and learning practices and principles.

7. ensure a culture of continuous improvement, creating and leading effective professional learning and
building the capacity of teachers as leaders in learning.

8. develop and sustain constructive and respectful relationships within and beyond the school community
through high-level communication and interpersonal skills.

Variation to Role Description: The Role Description will be updated from time to time to reflect legislative
changes and requirements, and the duties and responsibilities of the role may be varied, after appropriate
consultation, in response to the changing needs of the College.

Please note:

- All teachers appointed to Chevalier College are required to uphold an extracurricular commitment

which requires coaching two afternoons per week, and attendance at Saturday
