About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Major Events Lead to join our Philanthropy Unit at Cancer Council NSW. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering a range of high-profile events that engage and inspire our donors, supporters, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive events strategy that aligns with our organisational goals and objectives.
  • Lead a small team to deliver a range of events, including the POSH Gala Ball, Research Awards, and CEO cocktail function.
  • Identify and secure new event opportunities that support philanthropic growth, including webinars and lab tours.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve agreed outcomes and ensure strong stakeholder communication and engagement.
  • Manage event budgets, forecasts, and income/expenditure tracking.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing donors, supporters, and stakeholders.
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional with a proven track record in event management, fundraising, and donor engagement. You will have a tertiary qualification in events, business, and/or marketing, and at least five years of experience in the NFP sector. You will be an excellent communicator, negotiator, and influencer, with a passion for delivering high-quality events that make a difference.
