Ensuring the highest standards of infection control is a top priority in theatres and other clinical areas.

About the Role

As an integral member of our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Thermal disinfection inspection, packaging, and sterilising of all instrumentation for theatre and other clinical areas
  • Compliance with AS/NZ standards
  • Operating, interpreting, and documenting all machinery operational requirements
  • Reporting and documenting quality activities
  • Prioritising instrumentation and processes

Our hospital provides a range of multiday and day surgery services, attracting patients from across the Northern Territory, Western Australia, remote Aboriginal communities, and offshore.

Essential Criteria

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A Certificate 4 in Sterilisation Services or working towards it
  • Demonstrated knowledge of instrumentation
  • Sound knowledge of AS/NZ standards
  • Experience with tracking systems
  • Endoscopy reprocessing experience or willingness to learn
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Intermediate computer literacy skills - including MS office and various databases
  • An interest in promoting best practice patient care
  • A focus on professional development
