DC Facilities Engineering Manager

This position is responsible for the ongoing management of sub-contractors and large-scale electrical and mechanical services infrastructure in a data centre environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the performance of sub-contractors and ensure compliance with Fujitsu's standards and procedures.
- Coordinate all preventive and remedial maintenance activities, including the preparation of documentation and arrangements for approvals prior to works commencing.
- Supervise all activities carried out by contractors, ensuring adherence to appropriate PPE and WHS standards.
- Monitor all building services, identify and resolve any issues within scope or escalate to the Data Centre Manager and/or services providers.
- Support site stability through effective equipment maintenance, performance monitoring, fault resolution, and assistance with capacity planning.
- Undertake or supervise the operation of building infrastructure/equipment, including regular building inspections and proactive identification of issues.
- Arrange and supervise maintenance according to an annual program, undertaking all pre and post steps, and manage infrastructure maintenance activities and supervise contractors.
- Liaise with clients and service providers as required, and monitor the site through a Building Management System, responding to infrastructure faults and breakdowns.
- Maintain records, including up-to-date drawings and documentation for all Data Centre infrastructure, ensuring compliance with Fujitsu's Quality Management Systems.
- Ensure that records management procedures are in place, and maintain an up-to-date Asset Register and asset tagging of all Data Centre infrastructure.
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of data within scope of responsibility, and maintain appropriate security controls.
- Personally adhere to Fujitsu's Security policies to ensure the protection of Fujitsu and customer information and technology resources.
- Periodically review the works area with the site WHS coordinator to assess WHS aspects of the work environment and work procedures of the data centre team.
- Actively review work procedures to ensure all works performed in a safe manner, providing adequate instruction, information, and supervision to contractors.
- Review plans, specifications, and schedules submitted by contractors and project teams to ensure suitability and integration with existing infrastructure.
- Undertake infrastructure project management as required, ensuring all works are controlled according to standard Data Centre Change Management procedures.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in facilities management in a large-scale data centre environment.
- Demonstrated technical skills and experience in supporting electrical and/or mechanical services infrastructure, with electrical trade certification an advantage.
- Sound initiative, good oral and written communication skills, and ability to work in a team environment.
- Experience in managing maintenance contractors, good knowledge of occupational health and safety and environmental work practices, and ability to identify risks and issues.
