We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Engineering Specialist to join our team in our Data Centre in Homebush. This is a permanent role with a salary and benefits package.
This role is part of our 24/7 operations team, providing critical support to our Data Centre infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Data Centre Security and Access Procedures: Ensuring the physical and logical security of our Data Centre, including access control and surveillance systems.
- IT Infrastructure and Maintenance: Identifying and resolving faults and issues with our Data Centre infrastructure, including IT systems, power and cooling systems, and data hall environmental conditions.
- Facilities Maintenance and Operations: Assisting in the maintenance, efficiency, and reliability of our Data Centre facility, including plant and equipment maintenance, batch operations, and subcontractor management.
- Incident Management and Risk Management: Leading and coordinating incident management and risk management procedures, including identifying, assessing, and addressing WHS hazards and incidents.
- Reporting and Compliance: Assisting with preparing monthly reporting related to data hall environmental conditions, power usage, and SLA adherence, and ensuring compliance with Fujitsu's Data Centre National Access Procedure.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Electrically qualified by trade or Mechanical/Controls preferred
- 2 years previous experience working within a data centre or similar environment
- Able to work independently and trouble shoot customer issues
- Experience in operational efficiencies and operational process creation and reviews
- Excellent customer service, communication skills, and a 'can do' attitude
- Awareness of WHS principles
- Open cable license favourable
