We are seeking an experienced Theatre Nurse to join our team in a dynamic and stimulating operating theatre environment.

This permanent, full-time position offers a regular 4-day work week with onsite free parking, located about 10 minutes south of the Adelaide CBD.

Job Description

The successful candidate will lead nursing services within the operating theatre and recovery, managing theatre operations and driving the Infection Control program in a private sector setting.

Duties will include coordinating nursing services, overseeing theatre operations, and ensuring compliance with infection control policies and procedures.

  • Coordinate nursing services within the operating theatre and recovery.
  • Manage theatre operations, staff allocation, rotation, direction, and day-to-day functioning.
  • Drive the Infection Control program.
  • Ensure reprocessing of instruments follows current codes of practice.
  • Oversee all sectors of the patient pathway from clinical admission to discharge.
  • Scrub for Surgeon and manage operating lists.
  • Maintain medical supplies and stock.
  • Provide a communication link between the Surgeon/Medical Director and nursing staff.
  • Instigate training for new nursing staff.
  • Maintain accreditation and involve staff in the accreditation process.
Requirements
  • Full registration with AHPRA.
  • Proven theatre and management experience.
  • Experience working in the Private Hospital sector.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and people management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with medical specialists.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Accreditation/Quality Policies and Procedures.
