Job Title

This is a permanent, full-time position in a busy operating theatre environment.

The Theatre Nurse/Operating Theatre Manager will lead nursing services within the theatre and recovery areas, manage theatre operations, and drive the Infection Control program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate nursing services within the operating theatre and recovery area.
  • Oversee the management of the operating theatre, staff allocation, rotation, direction, and day-to-day functioning.
  • Develop and implement the Infection Control program to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Manage the Central Sterilizing Supply Department (CSSD) and reprocessing of instruments.
  • Oversee all sectors of the patient pathway from admission to discharge.
  • Collaborate with surgeons and medical directors to provide effective communication between teams.
Requirements:
  • Full registration with AHPRA.
  • Proven experience in theatre and management roles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and people management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with medical specialists.
