Your Contribution:

The Associate Unit Manager (AUM) assumes the responsibilities and authority of the Maternity Unit Manager in their absence and as such supports the team leader to provide day-to-day leadership and management of the team ensuring a positive and professional working environment.

In collaboration with the Management Team, the AUM will ensure that services provided by the team are:

  • Focused to respect the rights, needs, and expectations of the childbearing woman.
  • Integrated and consistent.
  • Evidence-based.
  • Supportive of a learning environment.
  • High-quality care in accordance with the Women's Clinical Practice Guidelines, Scope of Practice, and Legislative Requirements.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise, and time manage in a challenging operational environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate junior and senior midwives.
  • Relevant experience working within a medical team and being in charge.
  • Relevant clinical experience with commitment to evidence-based outcomes.
  • Experience in working effectively and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
