The Art Gallery of New South Wales is seeking an Assistant Curator to join our team in Sydney. As a key member of the curatorial team, you will provide support in the management and delivery of exhibitions, working closely with the Senior Curator to care for, conserve, acquire, research, interpret, exhibit, and display our collection.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander individual to contribute to the growth and success of our institution, while sharing their knowledge and expertise with our audiences.
We are looking for someone with a tertiary degree in art history or equivalent, who has proven experience in undertaking research, using relational databases, and managing curatorial programs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with exhibition planning, coordination, and installation;
- Providing administrative support to the Senior Curator;
- Collaborating with other departments to develop and implement cross-disciplinary programs;
