Senior Project Officer

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Project Officer.

As a Senior Project Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, timely communications materials and advice to senior leaders.

You will be responsible for preparing speeches and speaking points for events, coordinating, drafting and reviewing Ministerial briefings, planning and delivering Ministerial events and visits across NSW, delivering internal education and engagement initiatives in the Department, and providing clear, risk-assessed advice on complex and sensitive issues.

The successful candidate will have experience drafting speaking materials for senior leaders, demonstrated ability to provide high-level strategic advice on complex, sensitive, or contentious issues at senior management or ministerial level, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare speeches and speaking points for events.
  • Coordinate, draft and review Ministerial briefings.
  • Plan and deliver Ministerial events and visits across NSW.
  • Deliver internal education and engagement initiatives in the Department.
  • Provide clear, risk-assessed advice on complex and sensitive issues.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional research, writing, editing, and formatting skills, with a sharp eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Sound judgement, diplomacy, and analytical capability to navigate sensitive or complex issues.
  • A collaborative, customer-focused mindset and commitment to delivering public value.
