Home Care Assistant Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate individual to join our team as a Home Care Assistant. This role will involve providing daily domestic, social, respite, and personal care services to our clients in the comfort of their own homes.

As a Home Care Assistant, you will be responsible for building genuine connections with our clients through social support, including taking them on outings to the shops, bank, cafes, or out for a walk. You will also provide transport to appointments or respite, assist with food preparation, and offer domestic assistance such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, emptying garbage, washing dishes, laundry, and assisting around the garden.

In addition to these tasks, you will also be responsible for providing personal care, including showering and assisting with other personal grooming, administering medication, testing blood sugar, observing skin integrity, and supervising medication dosage and administration.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent, experience in aged care, disability, or community nursing is desired. You will also need to have the right to work in Australia, a current driver's licence and access to your own car with comprehensive car insurance, and national police clearance or willingness to obtain.
