As a highly skilled HSE professional, you will play a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of workplace health and safety.

About the Role
  • You will be responsible for conducting regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
  • Developing and implementing effective HSE policies, procedures, and programs to minimize risk and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Providing expert guidance and support to operational teams to promote a proactive safety culture and encourage employees to take ownership of their own safety.
  • Investigating incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Delivering informative toolbox talks to increase safety awareness and knowledge among employees and contractors.
  • Monitoring and reporting on HSE performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them.
  • Conducting thorough risk assessments and assisting in the development of risk mitigation strategies to protect employees, contractors, and the business.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest legislative requirements, industry standards, and best practices to ensure that your expertise remains current and relevant.
About You
  • Certification IV or Diploma in Workplace Health and Safety is required.
  • At least 5 years' experience in the Mining and/or Construction industry, preferably in a similar HSE role.
  • Proven ability to develop and lead comprehensive risk assessments (operational & process) and produce detailed reports.
  • Competency in ICAM or similar methodology, with experience in leading and completing formal reports.
  • Ability to review, update, and develop corporate and operational procedures to ensure alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with online safety management platforms and portals is desirable.
  • Strong compliance management skills, including internal auditing, workplace inspection requirements, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to facilitate workshops and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
