Local Area Coordinator Role

This role involves assisting individuals with permanent and significant disabilities to access necessary support services. As a Local Area Coordinator, you will work closely with participants to develop and implement personalized plans that promote their independence and overall well-being.

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in planning and coordination, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of the local community and available resources is also essential.

In this position, you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating with participants to understand their needs and goals
  • Developing and implementing personalized plans to achieve desired outcomes
  • Facilitating connections between participants and local community resources
  • Monitoring progress and making adjustments as needed

Key Responsibilities

As a Local Area Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting participants with NDIS applications and navigation
  • Facilitating connections between participants and local community resources
  • Developing and implementing personalized plans to achieve desired outcomes
  • Monitoring progress and making adjustments as needed

Work with participants to build and pursue their goals, exercising choice and control over their lives. Collaborate with other professionals to ensure participants receive comprehensive support.

Demonstrated relevant experience and/or lived experience, knowledge of the local community, computer skills, and ability to hold a Working with Children and/or Vulnerable People Check are required.
