Family Violence Respondent Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Family Violence Respondent Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide non-legal support to individuals affected by family violence, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of others. As a Family Violence Respondent Support Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting eligibility assessments, providing recommendations for mandated counselling orders, and establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.

You will work closely with our team to develop and implement effective strategies to support individuals affected by family violence, ensuring that their needs are met and that they receive the support they require.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide non-legal support to respondents in family violence matters during the court process.
  • Conduct eligibility assessments and provide recommendations for mandated counselling orders.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in social work, psychology or social sciences.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of family violence, including drivers, risks and issues that can exacerbate family violence risk.
  • Sound skills in provision of support, crisis containment and risk assessment.
