This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. As a Patient Flow Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of clinical staff in the coordination of patient flow, ensuring efficient allocation of patients to beds in line with our bed management and access strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of professional clinical staff in the coordination of patient flow, ensuring efficient allocation of patients to beds in line with our bed management and access strategy.
- Work to achieve optimal patient outcomes and exceptional patient satisfaction.
- Facilitate and manage effective communication across the hospital and with key stakeholders, including consultation with pre-admission office, Clinical Nurse Managers, Clinical Liaison Nurse and VMO's.
- Recruit to ensure adequate staffing, maintaining a flexible workforce to support patient occupancy, ensuring budget and performance indicators are managed effectively.
- Lead the team to contribute to the hospital's strategic plan, develop actions plans and formulate policy and procedure as required.
- Contribute to the hospital's Quality Improvement Program by recommending and overseeing improvement projects and assisting with audit activities as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Nursing / current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Outstanding leadership skills and the ability to manage and support an after-hours team.
- Financial acumen and the demonstrated ability to manage resources within budget.
- Knowledge of legislation, Acts and Regulations relevant to healthcare service delivery. Knowledge of or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of contemporary nursing practices.
